An incredible pool pavilion, perfect for hosting large scale events, doubles as a professional movie/screening room.
Irreplaceable and incredible landscape design by Benjamin Purdy. The grounds feature a tiled 60 ft pool, formal rose gardens, vegetable/herb garden, tropical botanical garden, N/S tennis court with viewing pavilion, sports court, and vast grass lawns. A full-sized paved road encircles the entirety of the property. Built to be the most important estate in the country, maintained and stewarded until today.
Located in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles, the 39,800 sqft (3,700 m²) mansion has 60 rooms and was built on a 8.4-hectare plot of land.
The residence was built in the 1930s and its style is inspired by British mansions from the 18th and 19th centuries. The person who made this royal palace was the widow Hilda Boldt Weber, who was the wife of industrialist Charles Boldt and treated as a “new rich woman”. With the inheritance, it is said that she invested almost $37 million to build the residence and place herself in the high society of Los Angeles.
The current owners of the residence, investor Gary and children's book author Karen Winnick, invested in an extensive renovation, bringing back the glory days of Casa Encantada. The construction took two years to complete and involved 250 professionals, who worked daily. In addition, the house restored some of its old furniture, which had been sold by previous owners.
With an H-shape, which guarantees privileged views of the city, gardens and ocean, the residence was built on a 3.4-hectare plot of land surrounded by golf courses at the Bel-Air Country Club. Right at the entrance, a hall with a 5.5-meter ceiling welcomes its residents. The room leads to the reception, dining room, a stunning library and living rooms.
The mansion has a total of 60 rooms, located on the upper floor. To top it off, the outdoor area has a pool house with its own professional cinema, rose gardens, swimming pool and tennis and basketball courts. Greenhouses, a guest house, a housekeeper's annex and a koi pond, inspired by Japanese ornamental lakes, are also part of the residence's attractions.
